The Austin Real Estate Connection database consists of databases for all major types of properties as well as search capabilities for all properties, with links to additional property information you may have attached to your home page, along with home page link and email link.

This service is FEE BASED for adding property. See our rates prior to adding a property.

Registration: If you are an individual new users, you need to register one time, choose your UserID and Password and enter a listing for your contact information to be retained. Remember that ID and Password are CASE SENSITIVE!! If you have joined as part of a company membership we will assign you an ID and password.

Critical Email Configuration: If you are using Compuserve email you must use the following format:

firstnumber.secondnumber@compuserve.com.

Always use a "." instead of a "," and always use all lower case for compuserve.com. Your email will bounce otherwise. AOL and Prodigy users also be certain to include the domain name "@aol.com" or "@prodigy.com" to complete your email address.

Listing A Property: You may simply enter your listing online by selecting the type of property you wish to list and going directly to the input form. Form fields are limited but get the job done and your personal information is auto filled from the database information.

Photo Requirements: To include photos simply email any photos you wish to include to webadmin2@austinre.com. Black and white or grayscale images must be in "gif" format. All others should be in "jpg" at 350 pixels maximum width and saved at a compression ratio of 60. Here are some Tips on Scanning Images.

You may have photos saved to disk in a "jpg" format for an additional $4.95 at any photo shop. Compuserve users may NOT email such photos outside of the Compuserve environment due to Compuserve's email protocols being different from the Internet, but all others may simply attach the file to email in its native format and send directly. Make certain your email program is set to MIME in order to file transfer by attachment. Try sending a file attachment to yourself and pull it up in Netscape and see if the photo transfer worked prior to sending to us. If conversions are beyond you, simply snail mail to: (be sure to label photo on back using above critera) Photos will not be returned under any circumstances.
